With a reputation for great food and great coffee Drifters has established itself as the place to be. There has been an ongoing increase in trade with great returns shown. There is still plenty of scope for expansion with the Stockton mines and the increasing numbers of tourists. We also run a dairy and video shop from the premises. You could be the one to continue the epic journey of Drifters. Starting its days as a haberdashery, then a four square, and finally ten years ago, the beginning of Drifters.

The ever evolving Drifters features a blend of fantastic native timbers and rustic but funky modern design. The walls are adorned with a mix of eclectic and historic pieces and local arts. The funky retro style fireplace creates a warm cosy atmosphere in the winter. For summer a wall of bi-fold doors open out to a large deck and garden area. With gorgeous views of the lush mountain backdrop and a stones throw away from the beautiful beach.
There is a 42” LCD, a wharfedale PA system and computerised karaoke system for all your entertainment needs. There is broadband internet facilities in the café area and also in the office. We are on the route for touring musicians and regularly feature artists playing live gigs. We currently have indoor seating for 45pax. Outdoor seating has plenty of room for expansion but is currently 36 pax out the front, 20 pax on the deck and 35 pax in the garden area.
A very well designed chef’s kitchen with all the equipment needed for the daily running of the café as well as a restaurant at night. We are equipped with a char grill, flat grill, 2 double basket vee ray fryers, a 6 hob cooker and a pizza oven. The prep area has 900 wide bench with a 4 door underbench fridge. The washing up area is complete with a starline M2 dishwasher. All benches, sinks and shelves are hygienic stainless steel. We have a well laid out drinks area with a 2 group automatic espresso machine.
The northern Buller region has been touted as the new playground for both local and international tourists. Drifters is a lifestyle choice. There are many activities in the area including parapenting, rafting, jet boating, fishing, dolphin watching, hunting, bush walking, historic and nature trails. Just to name a few. Our village has a vibrant art community including musicians, sculptors, writers, jewellers, and painters. We have our own sub-tropical micro-climate. No it doesn’t always rain here, we have just as many sunshine hours as the rest of New Zealand. When it does rain, it really rains, which is good because this means it’s whitebait season and everyone knows we have the best whitebait. Granity is renown for its gorgeous sunsets. So at the end of the day there is nothing better than sitting on the beach watching the sun go down.
Drifters have very comfortable and recently refurbished on site living facilities including a new bathroom and laundry and a private courtyard. We also have Sky already installed in the living quarters.
